Instructions & Eligibility


1. Eligibility

Applicants must have a PhD or will receive a PhD within six months (in this case, the certification of his/her professor should be attached) in related field from universities which are recognized by Malaysian Government
Government staff applicants must attach an approval letter for sabbatical leave from their respective Head of Department
Malaysian applicants must have a good command of spoken and written Bahasa Malaysia and English
Non Malaysian applicants must show evidence of English proficiency :-
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score 600 or International English Language Testing Services (IELTS) overall minimum score 6.5 and minimum score 6.0 for each test component
Applicants must be in good health, both physically and mentally
Wherever possible applicant’s supervisor must have R&D grant

2. Instruction to fill up the application form

Applicants must fill up two copies of the University Application Form for Post Doctoral Scheme (including photograph)
All applications must be submitted to Dean of the respective Faculty in UMP
Section A to be completed by applicant and Section B to be completed by supervisor
Note: (*) Please delete the unnecessary item
Applicants must attach their list of publications (journal / article / thesis), working experience / research in CV form including scholarships, prizes or other awards received (please enclose documentary evidence) together with their applications
Applicants must submit ONE copy of their certified NRIC/passport book, TOEFL/IELTS scores and certified copies of the official transcripts of their academic records or other relevant certificates with their applications

3. All certification must be done by the Government’s Management and Professional Group (previously Group A)

UMP will not process incomplete application for further consideration.
